Description
The beautiful, flawless and fabled hoverfly is threatened with extinction. The females are insatiable egg layers and prefer to release their eggs from great heights. They are tenacious in their motherhood and dedicate their entire lives to tending their small offspring.

Deep in the earth the males swarm in fertilization chambers. They are averse to light, but are always ready to fertilize the valuable eggs.

Beasts of burden such as horses and donkeys live in close symbiosis with the hoverfly. They willingly spend their working lives catching the invaluable eggs as they fall from the air and land in the carts and wagons they pull. With careful grace, they bring their priceless cargo to the secret hollows that are the fertilization chambers.

So that as many eggs as possible will have a soft landing and be carried to safety, your help is needed. You are quite simply, vital for the continued existence of the hoverfly.
